Group Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer

About the role

Safer Power Limited is looking for a Group Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer based in Nairobi (Westlands). The role covers group marketing and branding, commercial marketing, corporate communications, digital marketing, regional expansion and stakeholder communications, and includes leading a marketing and communications team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group marketing strategy, build market and customer segmentation strategies, and develop annual marketing plans and budgets
• Strengthen the Safer Power Group brand and ensure consistent brand positioning across markets and business units
• Generate qualified leads, support account acquisition and retention, and measure marketing ROI
• Lead corporate communications, media relations, crisis and reputation management, and executive communications
• Lead digital marketing, including the corporate website, social media, content campaigns and digital lead generation
• Promote the Group's renewable energy, EPC, electrical engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and develop thought leadership and technical content
• Develop marketing strategies for Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi, support entry into new African markets and run competitor and market analysis
• Support the CEO and Executive Management, build relationships with government, regulators, investors and industry associations, and coordinate events, conferences and exhibitions
• Build and lead the marketing and communications team, manage the budget and oversee external agencies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage
• 8-12 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3-5 years in a senior marketing, communications or corporate affairs leadership role
• Proven experience in B2B marketing and commercial growth
• Experience in renewable energy, engineering, manufacturing, EPC or infrastructure is highly desirable
