Group Training & Learning Development Manager

About the role

A leading hospitality group operating multiple hotel, resort and camp properties across Kenya seeks a Group Training & Learning Development Manager. The role is responsible for creating, delivering and evaluating learning, development and service‑excellence programmes that enable staff at all levels to provide exceptional guest experiences and meet international hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group Learning & Development strategy, annual training plans, competency frameworks and budgets aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct organisation‑wide training needs analyses, design targeted learning interventions and deliver hospitality service‑excellence programmes.
• Design and roll out leadership development, coaching, mentoring and succession‑planning programmes to build future leaders.
• Standardise operational training across all departments to ensure consistent service delivery and compliance with company standards.
• Manage the Learning Management System, training records, certifications and knowledge‑management processes.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on training effectiveness, service quality and return on investment, driving continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with industry partners, training institutions and accreditation bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Training of Trainers (TOT) certification required; Learning & Development certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of Learning & Development experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a senior training management role.
• Proven experience delivering training programmes across multiple hotel properties, preferably within an internationally branded luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong expertise in service excellence, leadership development, stakeholder management and performance evaluation.
