Head of Commercial Services

About the role

The Head of Commercial Services will provide strategic leadership and end‑to‑end oversight of the bank’s external spend, supplier ecosystem, property portfolio, workplace services and safety obligations. This senior role ensures measurable business value, operational resilience and an excellent environment for colleagues and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Commercial Services strategy, operating model and multi‑year roadmap aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Lead enterprise spend analytics, should‑cost assessments and total‑cost‑of‑ownership initiatives to identify value opportunities.
• Oversee strategic sourcing, contracting and supplier performance, including contract lifecycle management and supplier governance.
• Develop and execute property and workplace strategy, managing leases, projects, facilities, utilities and asset lifecycle.
• Drive digitisation, automation and analytics across source‑to‑pay, supplier management and facilities operations.
• Embed sustainability, safety, accessibility and responsible sourcing into commercial decisions.
• Own risk and control environment for third‑party risk, regulatory compliance and business continuity.
• Build and lead a high‑performing, inclusive team and foster cross‑functional partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Property/Facilities Management or related field.
• Post‑graduate qualification or MBA is advantageous.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in commercial services, procurement, property or facilities management.
• Proven ability to drive strategic sourcing, supplier governance and cost optimisation at an enterprise level.
