About the role
Natural State is seeking a strategic leader to shape and own its global people agenda. As Head of People & Culture you will translate the organisation’s conservation mission into people practices that attract, develop and retain top talent across Kenya, the United States, South Africa and future locations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global HR strategy aligned with the 3‑year organisational plan.
- Design, implement and continuously improve standardized yet locally adaptable HR policies, processes and HRIS across all entities.
- Establish and monitor global HR metrics and analytics to inform talent, engagement and organisational health decisions.
- Lead global HR projects such as HRIS implementation, compensation benchmarking and talent‑management framework development.
- Create and oversee a global talent acquisition strategy targeting conservation, technology, finance and field‑operations professionals.
- Drive performance management, succession planning and leadership development programmes worldwide.
- Manage career pathing, professional development and internal mobility initiatives.
- Serve as the internal authority on employment law and contract management for the United States, Kenya and South Africa, ensuring 100% compliance with local labour regulations and data‑protection requirements.
Required profile
- Senior HR leadership experience in international, multi‑jurisdictional settings.
- Proven ability to build and scale a high‑performing HR function.
- Strong track record of developing and executing global HR strategies.
- Excellent analytical mindset with experience using HR metrics to drive decisions.
- Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, performance management and leadership development.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of employment law and contract management in the United States (federal & state), Kenya and South Africa.
- Experience with HRIS selection, implementation and optimisation.
- Competence in compensation benchmarking and talent‑management framework design.
- Ability to interpret and apply data‑protection regulations such as GDPR.
