Head of Sales and Marketing

About the role

Career Directions Limited is recruiting, on behalf of an established non-alcoholic beverage manufacturer, a Head of Sales and Marketing. The role reports to the Managing Director and leads the commercial strategy across the beverage portfolio and target markets, including export growth. It covers revenue, volume, market share, pricing, profitability, distribution, customer relationships and brand performance, and includes regular travel to Nairobi, other regions of Kenya and export markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run sales and marketing strategies, manage the commercial budget and pricing, and coordinate demand forecasting with Production, Finance and Supply Chain
• Lead national and regional sales teams, set KPIs and dashboards, and build route-to-market plans for distributors, wholesalers, general trade, modern trade, supermarkets, hospitality and institutional customers
• Grow international sales, recruit and manage international distributors and importers, and represent the company at trade exhibitions
• Run brand strategies, integrated marketing campaigns and trade marketing activations, working with product development and packaging
• Use CRM, business intelligence and sales force automation to drive pricing, segmentation, forecasting and reporting
• Build and mentor sales, marketing, trade marketing and export teams, and work with senior management on strategic objectives

Required profile

• Results-oriented FMCG leader with a strong understanding of consumer markets
• Proven experience managing national and regional sales operations
• Ability to build high-performing teams, strengthen customer relationships and deliver sustainable growth
