Head of Value & Access

About the role

The Head of Value & Access leads the creation and execution of integrated access, pricing, HEOR/HTA and healthcare system shaping strategies to ensure timely, equitable and commercially viable patient access to Novartis innovations. The role focuses on priority therapeutic areas and key launches within complex healthcare systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement national access strategies for priority therapeutic areas and key assets.
• Shape Target Product Profiles and early pipeline opportunities by representing payer perspectives.
• Define asset maximisation strategies, including indication sequencing and long‑term access planning.
• Lead integrated cross‑functional access plans aligned with commercial, medical and public affairs priorities.
• Build strategic partnerships with governments, payers, policymakers, hospitals, patient groups and other ecosystem stakeholders.
• Lead national pricing strategy, governance and operational pricing processes, including outcome‑based agreements.
• Develop HEOR/HTA strategies, oversee value dossiers, economic models and HTA submissions.
• Oversee Access Field teams, manage relationships with hospitals, payers, insurers and wholesalers.
• Lead cross‑functional account strategy development and execution of access‑critical projects.
• Manage talent, build high‑performance culture and develop succession plans across the country organisation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading cross‑functional teams in access, pricing, HEOR/HTA and healthcare system shaping.
• Proven ability to develop and execute national access and pricing strategies for complex therapeutic areas.
• Strong track record of building strategic partnerships with government, payer and stakeholder organisations.
• Demonstrated leadership in talent development, performance management and succession planning.
