Head of Value & Access (SSA)

About the role

The Head of Value & Access (SSA) leads the development and execution of integrated access, pricing, HEOR/HTA, and healthcare system shaping strategies to ensure timely, equitable, and commercially viable patient access to Novartis innovations. The role oversees end‑to‑end access excellence across priority therapeutic areas and key launches in complex health systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement national access strategies for priority therapeutic areas and key assets.
• Shape Target Product Profiles and early pipeline opportunities by representing payer perspectives.
• Define asset maximization strategies, including indication sequencing and long‑term access planning.
• Build strategic partnerships with governments, payers, policymakers, hospitals, and patient groups to co‑create innovative access solutions.
• Lead national pricing strategy, governance, and operational pricing processes, including negotiations and outcome‑based agreements.
• Direct HEOR/HTA strategy, evidence planning, and high‑quality HTA submissions.
• Oversee Access Field teams, manage relationships with hospitals, payers, insurers, and wholesalers, and drive access‑critical projects.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, foster a high‑performance culture, and develop talent pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in access, pricing, HEOR/HTA, or related functions within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Demonstrated ability to shape national access strategies and influence policy environments.
• Strong track record of building and managing strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and driving large‑scale projects.
