Hospital Pharmacist

About the role

Valley Hospital, a Level 4 facility in Nakuru City, is looking for a qualified Hospital Pharmacist to join its Pharmacy Department. The role focuses on ensuring safe, effective, and rational use of medicines while supporting optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications and provide clinical guidance to patients and healthcare providers.
• Conduct medication therapy management, drug utilization reviews, and pharmacovigilance activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimize therapy plans.
• Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacy staff as delegated.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) with a valid practising licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Minimum of 3 years post‑internship experience in a comparable hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of drug therapies, patient counselling, and ethical standards.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
