Human Resource Officer

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing agribusiness focused on commercial beekeeping, honey production, herbs and value‑added products, is looking for a Human Resource Officer to build and manage its HR function. The role will support recruitment, employee relations, policy implementation, performance management and statutory compliance across all operational sites.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, induction and deployment of staff.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, contracts and personnel files.
• Implement HR policies, procedures and employment practices.
• Manage employee relations, grievances, workplace concerns and disciplinary processes.
• Promote equality, teamwork, diversity and inclusion across locations.
• Monitor workplace relationships and advise management on emerging risks.
• Coordinate probation reviews, performance planning and employee appraisals.
• Support payroll preparation by verifying attendance, leave, overtime, allowances and employee changes.
• Administer annual, sick, compassionate and other authorised leaves.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment laws, occupational safety requirements and internal policies.
• Assist in workforce planning, job description development and staffing structures.
• Identify training needs and coordinate relevant development programmes.

Required profile

• Diploma (any discipline) – minimum qualification.
• Relevant HR experience (mandatory).
• Good knowledge of Kenyan labour legislation and occupational safety standards.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
