Human Resources & Public Relations Manager

About the role

The company is urgently seeking a senior HR and Public Relations leader to drive HR strategy, employee and industrial relations, administration, corporate communications and public relations across its manufacturing, sales, distribution and head‑office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with business objectives, covering recruitment, talent acquisition, onboarding, retention and succession planning.
• Manage employee and industrial relations, disciplinary matters, grievances and union engagement for multi‑location, blue‑collar workforces.
• Oversee HR administration, payroll coordination, attendance, leave and employee records while ensuring compliance with Kenyan employment legislation.
• Lead performance management, employee engagement, training, talent development and workforce planning to optimise productivity and labour costs.
• Direct corporate communications, media engagement, government and regulatory relations, community outreach and crisis communication to protect and enhance corporate reputation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
• CHRP‑K or equivalent professional HR qualification (preferred/required).
• 8–12 years progressive HR experience, including 4–5 years in a senior/managerial HR role.
• Strong background in FMCG, dairy, beverages or food processing manufacturing, with experience managing unionised, shift‑based workforces.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex employee and industrial relations matters and represent the company with external stakeholders.
