Humanitarian Action MEAL Advisor

About the role
The Humanitarian Action MEAL Advisor supports SOS Children’s Villages’ Member Associations in delivering evidence‑based humanitarian programmes. Working across several country offices, the Advisor provides technical assistance on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) to ensure that data and learning drive decision‑making and that affected children and young people are meaningfully involved.
Key responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on technical support to design, review and improve MEAL frameworks, indicators, log‑frames and monitoring plans.
- Develop, adapt and maintain data‑collection tools, including KoboToolbox surveys, and advise on appropriate methodologies.
- Guide the establishment of indicator tracking systems and ensure data quality throughout the project cycle.
- Lead CHS (Core Humanitarian Standard) accountability processes and facilitate participation of affected populations.
- Promote organizational learning through reporting, peer exchanges and dissemination of best practices.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development contexts.
- Proven experience supporting multiple country offices or partners.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian standards, especially CHS and the Humanitarian‑Development‑Peace nexus.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
