ICT Officer - Business Systems (ERP & IT Support)

About the role

An ICT Officer is needed in Nairobi to support the company's IT systems, its ERP system and the day-to-day needs of staff and production. The role covers server and network infrastructure, cybersecurity, ERP administration, data reporting, service desk support and the introduction of AI-enabled tools.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain servers, network infrastructure, workstations, printers and production-floor terminals, and monitor performance, uptime and capacity
• Manage backups, disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical systems
• Administer user accounts, access rights and IT asset inventory, and maintain cybersecurity controls such as antivirus, firewalls and patching
• Liaise with external IT vendors, internet/telecom providers and hardware suppliers, including SLAs and contracts
• Serve as the ERP super-user: configure workflows and roles, maintain master data, troubleshoot issues, manage upgrades and train end-users
• Own data integrity and governance, design dashboards and reports, and ensure compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019
• Provide first- and second-line technical support, maintain user guides and SOPs, and pilot AI tools and AI/ML use cases such as demand forecasting and predictive maintenance
• Maintain IT policies and documentation, support audits and recommend continuous improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems or a related field
• At least 4-6 years of progressive IT systems support experience, with 2-3 years directly administering an ERP system
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, industrial or plant-based environment strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience using or piloting AI-enabled tools in a business setting
• Experience managing IT vendors and small-scale system implementation or upgrade projects

Required skills

• Relevant certifications are an added advantage: ERP-specific certification, ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft/Cisco certifications, or PMP/PRINCE2
