Information Management and Analysis Officer

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is hiring a full-time, on-site Information Management and Analysis Officer in Nairobi. The officer collects, manages, analyses and reports programme data, develops dashboards and provides insights that support project planning and decision-making. The role sits under the IAWG Director's guidance and covers information systems administration, data quality, regional analysis and advocacy support.

Key responsibilities

• Administer IAWG information systems, improve member data quality and participation, and turn validated information into regional and cross-border analysis for coordination, preparedness and advocacy.
• Hand over the Power BI dashboard, database, data-entry portal, data model and documentation to IAWG/NRC, and coordinate the transfer of hosting, licences and control with NRC IT.
• Maintain the Power BI solution independently, manage access, keep technical documentation and backups, and assess the feasibility and cost of a future Python- or R-based dashboard.
• Coordinate member submissions, clean and validate data, track completeness and duplicates, resolve discrepancies with contributing organisations and protect sensitive operational data.
• Produce maps, briefs, charts and snapshots for the Director, Steering Committee and working groups, and support surveys, joint analysis and advocacy.
• Support member focal points with onboarding and guidance, and engage with partners and host agencies.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Management, Statistics, Data Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent to 4 years of professional experience in information management, data analysis, GIS, statistics or computer science.
• Demonstrated experience managing datasets and dashboards and producing analysis that informs operational or strategic decisions.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on Power BI skills (data preparation, modelling, visualisation, refresh and access management).
• Proficiency in Python and/or R, with documented, reproducible code.
• Advanced Excel and experience with structured data, online collection tools and data-quality workflows.
