Information Security Manager

About the role

The Information Security Manager is a senior officer at Middle East Bank Kenya who oversees and ensures the security, integrity and confidentiality of the bank's information systems, digital assets and technologies. The role develops and implements strategies to protect the information infrastructure against cyber threats, manages ICT risk and ensures compliance with relevant regulations, working closely with senior leadership to align security strategy with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to safeguard the information infrastructure against cyber threats
• Manage ICT risk and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align information security strategy with business objectives
• Promote a culture of security awareness across the organisation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related field; a master's degree is an added advantage
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in information security, risk management or IT governance roles
• Proven experience developing and implementing information security strategies and policies in a complex organisation
• Experience managing large-scale security incidents, including data breaches and cyber-attacks
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare or government is a plus

Required skills

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CCISO are highly desirable
• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats, technologies and risk management practices
• Knowledge of core banking systems is desirable
