Innovative Financing Global Advisor (Nairobi)

About the role

Terre des hommes is seeking an Innovative Financing Global Advisor to lead its new global initiative on innovative financing in Nairobi, Kenya. The advisor will shape the organisation’s financing strategy, identify new funding mechanisms and pilot innovative approaches that support Tdh’s mission across health, migration, child protection and climate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Tdh’s innovative financing roadmap and conduct strategic analysis of market trends, donor shifts and emerging financing models.
• Map financing instruments, actors and mechanisms relevant to Tdh’s programmes and facilitate internal learning through workshops and capacity‑building sessions.
• Identify internal capacity gaps in finance, risk, compliance, legal and MEAL and propose strengthening measures.
• Engage external experts, donors, development finance institutions, financial institutions, consultancies and academic partners to build Tdh’s credibility in the innovative financing ecosystem.
• Design and coordinate pilot projects in strategic domains such as climate, health, child protection and migration, and formalise technical partnerships for implementation.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in Kenya.
• Proven experience in innovative financing, strategic analysis and partnership development within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong understanding of financing instruments, donor landscapes and emerging funding models.
• Ability to lead cross‑departmental coordination and facilitate capacity‑building activities.
