Internal Inspector

About the role

The Internal Inspector will conduct on‑site inspections of farms, production units and collection centres to ensure compliance with organic certification standards (USDA/NOP and EU 2018/848). You will work closely with field officers and farmers to support organic and Fair‑Trade practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform internal inspections of farms and production sites according to ICS procedures and organic certification standards.
• Verify farm compliance with EU organic regulations, including production methods, field management and harvesting practices.
• Carry out yield estimation and balance verification, ensuring data accuracy.
• Complete and submit inspection checklists, reports and documentation to the data clerk on time.
• Identify non‑compliance issues and advise farmers on corrective actions.
• Accompany field officers during visits and assist with monitoring and evaluation.
• Educate farmers on organic and Fair‑Trade standards and support traceability of coconuts.
• Train field officers, buying clerks and other staff on inspection processes and compliance requirements.
• Prepare detailed post‑inspection reports and maintain records for the Approved Farmers List.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with at least 24 months of experience in farm inspection, quality assurance or related fields.
• Good knowledge of USDA/NOP and EU 2018/848 organic regulations.
• Ability to travel to farms across Kwale County and other regions.
• Strong written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
