Irrigation Foreman

About the role

Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of a leading agricultural enterprise, seeks an Irrigation Foreman to manage daily watering schedules and maintain irrigation infrastructure for fine beans and tenderstems across production farms in Laikipia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily irrigation cycles to support maximum yields of premium fine beans and tenderstems.
• Perform daily field and soil moisture inspections, checking nutrient levels, watering depth, and overall plant health.
• Execute basic system troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance on drip and overhead irrigation networks.
• Maintain meticulous field documentation, including water usage logs and maintenance sheets.
• Ensure compliance with agricultural safety standards, chemical fertigation handling regulations, and environmental laws.

Required profile

• Diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or a related field.
• At least 2 years of active irrigation or farm supervisory experience with fine beans and tenderstems.
• Experience supervising field workers and managing open‑field or greenhouse irrigation operations for export‑oriented companies.
• Familiarity with GlobalGAP compliance standards and safe water use regulations.

Required skills
