IT and Social Media Intern

About the role

Jhpiego Kenya is looking for a motivated IT & Social Media Intern to support its technology infrastructure while enhancing its digital presence. This three‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in IT support, content creation, and social media strategy within an international development setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical assistance for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and ensure data security and backups.
• Manage daily activity on LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and emerging platforms, including scheduling and publishing content.
• Create social media copy, visuals, photography, and short‑form videos for campaigns, events, and field activities.
• Support influencer identification, coordination, and performance tracking.
• Track and report social media metrics, preparing monthly performance summaries.

Required profile

• Tech‑savvy individual with a passion for digital communication and storytelling.
• Early‑career professional eager to learn both IT operations and social media management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with program teams.

Required skills

• IT hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Network configuration and basic data‑security practices.
• Management of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
• Content creation – copywriting, photography, short‑form video production and basic editing.
• Analytics reporting and interpretation of engagement metrics.
