IT Software Specialist

About the role

The IT Software Specialist will manage, support, secure and continuously improve the organisation’s information technology infrastructure and software systems. This role ensures reliable operation of the Hospital Information Management System (HIMS), computers, networks, servers, databases, cybersecurity controls and related digital platforms across all branches.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support the HIMS, including user accounts, roles, workflows, service pricing and system parameters.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HIMS modules such as registration, outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, theatre, billing, insurance, finance, inventory and reporting.
• Coordinate software error resolution with vendors and test system updates before deployment.
• Manage software licences, subscriptions, warranties and renewal dates.
• Provide technical support to employees and branches, installing and maintaining computers, printers, scanners, biometric devices, routers and other ICT equipment.
• Establish a help‑desk process, record incidents and resolutions, and train staff on HIMS and other digital tools.
• Maintain local area networks, internet connectivity, Wi‑Fi and inter‑branch links, and implement basic cybersecurity controls.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 36 months of relevant experience.
• Experience in a healthcare IT environment is preferred.

• Hardware troubleshooting (PCs, printers, scanners, biometric devices).
• Help‑desk incident tracking and resolution.
