Junior Consultant – Programme Coordinator

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is looking for a Junior Consultant to support the coordination, monitoring and knowledge‑management of its Chemicals and Pollution Action Sub‑programme. The role will help ensure the sub‑programme aligns with UNEP’s Medium‑Term Strategy 2026‑2029 and Programme of Work 2026‑2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical, coordination, monitoring, reporting, analytical and knowledge‑management support for the Chemicals and Pollution Action Sub‑programme.
• Track and update the project portfolio and pipeline, conduct portfolio reviews and ensure quality of project concepts and documents.
• Guide IPMR (Integrated Programme Management Reporting) workflows and develop planning and monitoring tools.
• Consolidate corporate and donor reporting inputs and prepare CPR and governance briefing materials.
• Analyse programme interlinkages, strategic priorities and produce synthesis briefs on lessons learned, good practices, challenges and opportunities.
• Organise and document coordination meetings and pollution dialogues, follow up on action points and maintain a knowledge repository.

• Ability to deliver technical, coordination, monitoring, reporting, analytical and knowledge‑management support as described.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to produce high‑quality briefing and synthesis documents.
