Junior Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor – Somalia

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a Junior Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor to support the implementation of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The role focuses on enhancing gender equality and social inclusion within the higher education sector.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen the capacity of Somalia’s higher education system for better coordination, regulation, and sustainability.
• Design and implement gender and social‑inclusion strategies in development programmes.
• Conduct gender analyses and develop policies and action plans to address inequities.
• Design and deliver training and awareness campaigns on gender equality and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in gender studies, sociology, social work, development or a related field.
• Training in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion.
• Understanding of barriers faced by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups in accessing education.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing gender and social‑inclusion strategies in development programmes.
• Experience conducting gender analyses, developing policies, and delivering training.
• Familiarity with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.
