Junior QA Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join a global software company that provides network security solutions. The role is fully remote within Kenya and offers the chance to work on UI, API and backend testing while developing automation skills.

Key responsibilities

• Write, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases for UI, API and backend functionality.
• Contribute to test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Reproduce, document and track defects using Jira.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and identify edge cases.
• Monitor test runs, triage failures and keep test documentation up to date.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups and retrospectives.
• Build familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls and access policies.

Required profile

• Good coding skills in Java or Python (Java preferred) with 1‑2 years of programming experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and interest in quality assurance.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High motivation, coachability and willingness to learn quickly.
• Residency in Kenya and ability to work full‑time remote (9 AM‑6 PM EAT).
