Lead People Partner – Kenya

About the role

M-KOPA is hiring a Lead People Partner to own the people agenda for Kenya, its oldest and largest market, as the company scales toward serving more customers across the continent. This is a brand-new, high-visibility role reporting to Kenya's leadership team, with direct access to them and collaboration with a global People team across Africa and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Kenya's leadership team on org design, workforce planning and business-aligned people strategy
• Own talent review, performance calibration and succession planning for the Kenya client group, building the frameworks rather than just running them
• Lead employee relations resolution and act as the escalation point for the market, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor law
• Drive organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, transformation and cross-functional project delivery

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive HR/People Partner experience, including 3-6+ years advising director-level or above executives in fast-growth, matrixed organizations
• Working knowledge of Kenyan labor law and the regulatory environment, with end-to-end experience handling employee relations escalations
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing org design, workforce planning or succession strategy, with evidence of having built a framework
