Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to support employees and managers in navigating medical and statutory leaves. The role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations while delivering a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end LOA cases, ensuring adherence to federal, state and company policies.
• Guide employees and managers through LOA processes, policies and required documentation.
• Determine eligibility, review medical certifications and maintain accurate leave records in HRIS.
• Provide timely communication throughout the leave lifecycle and track usage against balances.
• Coordinate FMLA and state‑mandated leaves with relevant stakeholders.
• Respond to inquiries via phone and email, support investigations and handle escalations.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and meet KPIs and service level targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1‑3 years of HR experience, preferably in LOA, benefits, disability or workers’ compensation.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, FMLA and multi‑state leave regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
