Lecturer – Building, Civil, Transportation & Water Engineering

About the role

The Technical University of Mombasa seeks a dedicated Lecturer to deliver and develop courses in Building, Civil, Transportation and Water Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The role involves teaching, research, and community engagement within a vibrant academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in the specified engineering disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, experiential learning activities, and postgraduate dissertations or theses.
• Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
• Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects and scholarly activities.
• Present research findings at academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Provide professional and community services, develop industry linkages, and support fund mobilisation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Earned PhD (or equivalent Doctoral degree) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation or Water Engineering, or a Master’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience in academia, research, or industry.
• Registration with the appropriate professional or regulatory engineering body.
• Evidence of computer literacy.
