Lecturer – Community Health Nursing

About the role

The AG German Institute is hiring a Lecturer in Community Health Nursing for its Nairobi branch. The post reports to the Head of Nursing School and covers delivering the curriculum, preparing students for community health practice and ensuring compliance with Nursing Council regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based lectures, practical demonstrations and laboratory sessions, aligned with the approved medical curriculum
• Coordinate community health placements, guide students through community diagnoses and supervise fieldwork
• Manage ongoing student assessments and create, evaluate and standardize course examinations and continuous assessments
• Supervise learners' research activities, including milestones, progress and final submissions
• Evaluate fieldwork and case study portfolios against professional standards and learning outcomes
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship, and design, facilitate and grade clinical competency assessments
• Take learner feedback to improve teaching and content, and handle administrative tasks such as admissions, induction and committee work

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a clear specialization in Community Health Nursing, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in community health nursing education
• Valid practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of the NCK curriculum structures
• Lesson planning and OSCE skills
• Meticulous, result-oriented approach and good communication skills
