Lecturer (Nursing) - Grade 12

About the role

Mama Ngina University College, a constituent college of Kenyatta University, is recruiting a Grade 12 Lecturer in Nursing (re-advertisement, ref. MNUC/L/002/2025) in the Department of Nursing and Clinical Studies. The post is an entry-level teaching position for PhD holders, working under the direct supervision of a senior officer. The college offers permanent and pensionable employment, paid according to the IPUCCF and CBA 2021-2025 approved salary rates.

Key responsibilities

• Lecture in the area of specialization according to the syllabus
• Coordinate course projects and practical work
• Prepare teaching and learning materials
• Set, invigilate and mark examinations and assignments
• Carry out research in a relevant field and develop research funding proposals
• Write journal articles and books, and present papers at conferences and seminars
• Develop and review academic programmes and curricula
• Supervise tutorial and junior research fellows and students
• Manage research and student field-trip budgets
• Provide departmental leadership where appropriate and carry out other duties assigned

Required profile

• Earned PhD in Mental Health & Psychiatric Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Midwifery & Obstetric Nursing, Critical Care Nursing or Medical Surgical Nursing, OR a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's in one of those specializations, OR progress towards a PhD
• Evidence of university-level teaching experience, research or industry experience
• Publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid practice license
• Proficiency in computer applications
