Logistics Associate – Nairobi

About the role

The European Commission’s Directorate‑General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) is seeking a Logistics Associate to support its Nairobi Regional Office. The role focuses on procurement, equipment provision and overall logistics support to ensure smooth office operations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of office property, consumables and services, including tendering and supplier selection.
• Prepare comparative tables, purchase orders, contracts and Administrative Requests for Authorisation (ARAs).
• Maintain compliance with DG ECHO and EU procurement rules and update the field office procurement plan.
• Monitor contractor performance, warranties, after‑sales services and supplier price‑lists.
• Track inventory, conduct stock‑taking and ensure proper use of DG ECHO property.
• Oversee maintenance and timely repair of office and non‑ICT equipment, coordinating with the ICT Associate for communication tools.
• Liaise between the Regional Office and other field offices on logistics and protocol matters.
• Provide surge support to offices during absences, crises, openings or expansions.

Required profile

• National staff member based in Nairobi, able to handle confidential information.
• Experience in procurement, logistics or office support functions.
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
