Machine Operator

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is hiring a Machine Operator for its Operations department in Nairobi. The on-site supervisor sets up, operates and maintains machinery in a production environment. The position reports to no one and works with all staff and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle, control and adjust settings such as speed, and feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools, test machines periodically, fix issues during the shift and check output against specifications and quality standards.
• Perform regular maintenance, clean equipment and the work area, and report malfunctions to supervisors.
• Follow health and safety regulations, including constant use of protective gear, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain activity logs and record production and operational data, plus any other duties assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is a must.
• 1 to 3 years of similar experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Adaptability and the ability to develop oneself and others.
