Machine Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

The Machine Operator will join our production team in Westlands, Nairobi, ensuring that manufacturing equipment runs smoothly and meets daily output targets. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring machinery while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, start up and shut down production machines according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust settings to maintain product quality and optimize output.
• Conduct routine quality checks, report defects and maintain accurate production records.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
• Report mechanical faults to the maintenance team and assist with repairs.
• Ensure a safe, clean work environment and comply with PPE and 5S guidelines.
• Track raw material availability, handle inventory and label finished products correctly.
• Complete shift handover reports and communicate production issues promptly.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 12 months of experience operating production machinery.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a manufacturing environment.
