Maintenance Manager – Lead Large-Scale Facility Operations

About the role
Responsible for leading the complete maintenance function, ensuring equipment reliability, availability, safety, preventive maintenance and cost control across a large‑scale continuous‑operation facility. The role oversees a multi‑trade team and coordinates with production, procurement and engineering to maximise uptime.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Lead maintenance planning, scheduling, shutdowns and breakdown response.
- Drive root‑cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Manage maintenance of electrical systems, generators, pumps, refrigeration, mechanical equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, fleet, fabrication, utilities and facilities.
- Maintain asset registers, maintenance history and work orders through ERP/CMMS.
- Control maintenance budget, spare parts, consumables, contractors and procurement.
- Evaluate repair vs. replacement decisions and support CAPEX/lifecycle planning.
- Lead and develop a 30+ member multi‑trade maintenance team, ensuring training, performance management and clear accountability.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, PPE, statutory inspections and safety requirements.
- Monitor and report equipment availability, downtime, PM completion, repair time, reliability and maintenance cost.
Required profile
- 8+ years of engineering and maintenance experience, with at least 4 years managing 20+ multi‑trade personnel.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering; professional registration preferred.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, agro‑industrial, agriculture or food‑processing continuous‑production environments.
- Strong background in preventive maintenance, reliability, asset management, budgeting and contractor management.
- Hands‑on knowledge of ERP/CMMS and maintenance KPIs.
- Proven leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, comfortable working in a remote operational setting.
