About the role

The Manager, Justice Services leads nationally delivered registry services that support courts and tribunals across Aotearoa. This senior operational leader ensures high‑quality service delivery, protects the Ministry’s reputation, and enhances the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear direction and communication to enable leaders to consistently deliver high‑quality services.
• Offer leadership coaching and support to build a high‑performance team culture.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with the judiciary through proactive engagement and collaboration on operational priorities.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver modern, people‑centred justice services.
• Lead implementation of strategic priorities that strengthen public trust in the law.
• Drive business goals, optimise resource allocation, and embed justice initiatives.
• Use customer insights, performance data, and data‑driven decision‑making to continuously improve services and outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams and operational delivery in complex customer‑service or processing environments.
• Demonstrated success building high‑performing, engaged teams and leading through others.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining focus on service quality and customer outcomes.
• Strong communication and relationship‑management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience using data, insights and performance measures to drive improvements.
• Sound financial, resource and risk management capability.
• Experience leading change and implementing service improvements.
