About the role
Summit Media Africa, an owner‑managed media business operating across East Africa, is seeking a Managing Director to take full operational ownership and lead the next phase of growth. Based in Nairobi, the MD will have full P&L responsibility, autonomy and accountability to the board.
Key responsibilities
- Own the P&L against a board‑agreed annual budget.
- Lead all commercial activity including pipeline management, pricing, scoping and contracting.
- Develop and manage the team’s structure, performance and development.
- Maintain and grow client, supplier and partner relationships across the region.
Required profile
- Proven record of closing new business with documented deals, values and cycle times.
- Senior commercial or general management experience with P&L responsibility.
- Established network in the East African market.
- Fluency in performance metrics such as CPA, ROAS and CAC.
- Experience reporting to a non‑resident board or shareholder group.
- Ability to build on an existing team rather than restructure it.
- Right to work in Kenya or a credible permit route.
