Marketing Assistant

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a Marketing Assistant in Nairobi, reporting to the Marketing Supervisor within the Commercial department. The person in this role performs a variety of marketing tasks, supporting the execution of marketing activities, product launches, activations and day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Activation and events: coordinate brand ambassadors and promoters, prepare activation materials and product samples, track attendance and reports, assist with event setup and logistics, collect photos and feedback, and compile activation reports.
• Retail and distributor support: support product launches and promotional rollouts, coordinate sample distribution to retailers and distributors, maintain records of retailer promotional activities and follow up on their marketing support requests.
• Inventory and asset management: track inventory of POSM, branded merchandise, uniforms and activation materials, coordinate storage and distribution, maintain an inventory register and conduct periodic stock counts, and monitor usage and replenishment needs.
• Market research: collect information on pricing, promotions, new products and market trends, and assist in consumer surveys and focus groups.
• Administrative support: maintain marketing calendars, trackers and filing systems, purchase requisitions and supplier documentation, an expense tracker, and departmental records and correspondence.

Required profile

• Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in marketing, administration or customer-facing roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools is an advantage.
