About the role

The Rift Valley National Polytechnic is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Trainer to join its faculty in Nakuru. This full‑time position focuses on delivering mechanical engineering education to students, ensuring they acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The role also involves supporting curriculum development and assisting students with engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions in mechanical engineering subjects.
• Prepare and present course materials, including presentations, demonstrations, and workshop outlines.
• Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and hands‑on evaluations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing engineering studies.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom and workshop environment.
• Collaborate with department staff to align teaching activities with program objectives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong communication and teaching abilities.
• Industry experience is considered an advantage.
