Mechanical Maintenance Officer – Fixed-Term

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Officer will carry out hands‑on maintenance on production lines, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and safely. Working under the direction of Production Coordinators and Supervisors, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and supporting preventive maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the assigned pyrolysis line throughout the shift for signs of mechanical faults, unusual sounds, or abnormal conditions.
• Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns, diagnose the fault, carry out repairs, and restore production as quickly as possible.
• Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance tasks during the shift as directed by Production Coordinators.
• Execute thorough cleaning of the production line, including unclogging blockages, at every equipment stoppage to maximise uptime.
• Participate fully in planned maintenance windows, carrying out assigned tasks under the direction of Production Coordinators.
• Record all faults, repairs, parts used, and time‑to‑repair in the maintenance log after every intervention.
• Communicate open or ongoing maintenance issues clearly during shift handover.
• Strictly follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all electrical safety procedures before working on any equipment.
• Notify Production Coordinators of recurring faults, parts shortages, or maintenance risks requiring planning attention.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
• Ability to work shifts and respond promptly to breakdowns.
• Strong attention to safety, including strict adherence to LOTO and electrical safety protocols.
• Capability to follow instructions from Production Coordinators and Supervisors.
• Good record‑keeping and communication skills for shift handovers.
