Medical Cell Support – Nairobi

About the role

The Medical Cell Support role is based in Nairobi and provides strategic and technical assistance to field missions in South Sudan, Chad, Kenya and Sudan. Reporting to the Deputy Cell Manager – Medical, the position ensures continuity of medical‑operational decision‑making and supports mission teams on a wide range of topics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic and technical support to field teams on pharmacy management, international medical order follow‑up, nursing care, infection prevention and control, patient safety, staff health and hospital management.
• Validate medical orders and local purchases, ensuring compliance with organisational protocols and proper monitoring of medical supplies.
• Oversee health information system data quality, analyse medical indicators and contribute to quarterly and annual medical reports.
• Support the development of annual medical supplies plans, budgets and human‑resource needs in collaboration with supply and finance teams.
• Act as liaison between the field, the cell and the medical department, ensuring effective communication and implementation of solutions.

Required profile

• Qualified Medical Doctor, Clinical Officer or Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years of field experience as a medical coordinator with an NGO; emergency intervention experience is an asset.
• Fluency in English (B2) and French (B2) minimum.
