Medium Voltage Electrician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Medium Voltage Electrician to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing medium‑voltage electrical systems to ensure reliable power distribution in a demanding offshore environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair medium‑voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and underground cables.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide work procedures.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on distribution systems and associated components.
• Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Document inspections, repairs, and system performance in accordance with operational procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and operational goals.

Required profile

• Completed a three‑year apprenticeship in the electrician trade or a related field.
• Minimum three years of documented experience working with medium‑voltage electrical systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, comprehension).
• Valid passport with at least one year of remaining validity and ability to travel internationally.
