Member of Technical Staff – Research Engineering (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff to lead research engineering initiatives on the Micro1 platform. The position focuses on building scalable AI solutions and optimizing the underlying infrastructure, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring research breakthroughs into production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement engineering solutions that improve AI model performance and scalability.
• Optimize existing research pipelines to increase computational efficiency and reduce latency in distributed environments.
• Partner with data‑science and engineering teams to integrate research outcomes into production‑grade systems.
• Conduct performance benchmarking, identify bottlenecks, and guide architectural decisions.
• Document research methodologies, experimental results, and technical specifications for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, C++ or Rust for high‑performance computing.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
• Strong background in machine‑learning systems, model optimization, and inference acceleration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of linear algebra, optimization techniques, and numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code for both research and production.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
