Mobile Crane Operator (Over 55-Ton)

About the role

The employer is looking for a mobile crane operator to run over 55-ton cranes safely and efficiently, lifting, transporting and positioning materials and equipment in line with approved lifting plans, manufacturer guidelines and site safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the crane according to approved lifting plans and load capacities
• Carry out daily pre-start inspections and report defects immediately
• Check crane setup, outrigger deployment and ground conditions before lifting
• Makes sure loads are correctly rigged, balanced and secured
• Monitor weather and site conditions and suspend work when unsafe
• Maintain crane logbooks, inspection records and operational reports
• Comply with OSHA requirements, site safety procedures and PPE standards
• Report incidents, unsafe conditions and equipment faults immediately
• Secure the crane and work area at the end of each shift

Required profile

• At least 5 years of proven experience operating over 55-ton mobile cranes on construction or infrastructure projects
• Valid Mobile Crane Operator certification or similar from a recognised training body
• Valid driving licence applicable to the equipment
• Medically fit, with good eyesight and hearing
• Experience working with banksmen and lifting supervisors
• Reliable, disciplined and able to work under pressure
