Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer will support the implementation of MERL activities across Equity Group Foundation programmes, working closely with program managers and regional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and clean program databases, ensuring data quality and addressing errors.
• Generate routine reports, visualisations, dashboards and weekly progress updates for regional teams.
• Support development and testing of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools.
• Assist with field data collection, monitoring, evaluations and beneficiary engagements.
• Conduct data analysis using statistical software and contribute to MERL reports and knowledge products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, International Development or related field.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation, research, data analysis and program reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to data integrity, confidentiality and ethical MERL practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with statistical or data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, R or Power BI.
• Basic quantitative data analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to clean, organise, analyse and present data accurately.
