National Consultant: Advisor on ESG Due Diligence System

About the role

The International Trade Centre is seeking a National Consultant to advise on the design and implementation of an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Due Diligence System for its Ethical Fashion Initiative in Kenya. The consultant will work from the EFI Project Office in Nairobi and support the "Designing the Future" project funded by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ESG readiness assessments and produce assessment reports with corrective measures for social enterprises.
• Develop profiling reports for beneficiary enterprises, mapping social enterprises and their suppliers against ESG requirements.
• Collect baseline socio‑economic and environmental data for community groups involved in the project and produce related assessment reports.
• Support engagement with community groups and ensure alignment with ESG principles throughout the fashion value chain.
• Deliver all outputs by the stipulated deadlines (30 Sept 2026).

Required profile

• Proven experience in ESG assessments, due diligence, or sustainability consulting.
• Familiarity with social enterprises, especially within the fashion or value‑chain context.
• Ability to produce high‑quality analytical reports and recommendations.
• Strong communication skills to engage with community groups, partners, and stakeholders.
