National Nutrition & Dietetics Policy Consultancy (Hybrid + travel)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to support the development and finalisation of Kenya's National Nutrition and Dietetics Policy. The role will be based in Nairobi with a hybrid working arrangement and occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inception and work planning activities.
• Analyse the policy, legal and institutional landscape.
• Generate evidence and define policy issues.
• Develop and structure the nutrition and dietetics policy.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and public participation.
• Validate and finalise the policy, producing knowledge products.
• Provide regular progress reports and updates.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Nutrition, Public Health, Health & Nutrition policy, Social Sciences or related fields; PhD is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of senior‑level experience in nutrition or public policy, including design of health and nutrition programmes, policy formulation and multisectoral strategy development.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality nutrition and health policies, facilitating technical processes and coordinating multisectoral teams.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, writing and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.
