NOC Wireless Engineer (Cellular DAS & WiFi)

About the role

Oasis Outsourcing is looking for a NOC Wireless Engineer in Nairobi to deliver managed network solutions for Cellular/Public Safety DAS and Enterprise WiFi environments. The role covers monitoring, management and support so that network performance, HSIA reliability and mission-critical public safety communications stay optimal.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor performance and traffic across DAS and WLAN/WiFi architectures, and track RF signal quality (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz) to spot degradation patterns.
• Collect usage data and turn it into actionable insights for cellular and HSIA traffic.
• Run scheduled firmware and software upgrades for rXg, Ruckus (SmartZone), Meraki, Aruba and other controllers, and set up OAM routines.
• Maintain site documentation, floor plans and network maps, and run backups and restores of configurations and databases.
• Handle escalated cases, perform impact analysis of proposed changes, run post-incident reviews and root cause analysis, and support DAS deployment teams.
• Diagnose equipment failures, connectivity issues and RF interference, work with vendors on complex issues, and guide field technicians remotely.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years in a NOC environment or RF/telecommunications role.
• Proven experience in DAS deployment and enterprise WiFi troubleshooting, and with HSIA in hospitality or MDU settings.
• Open to flexible scheduling, including rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Clear technical communication and ability to prioritise multiple incidents and follow them through to closure.

Required skills

• WiFi and networking: 802.11, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, IP routing; Ruckus (SmartZone/Cloud), Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central/ClearPass, RGNet (rXg).
• DAS architecture (passive, active, hybrid fiber) and public safety spectrum; spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Certifications preferred but not required: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CWNA, iBwave Level 2 or Public Safety, and OEM certifications such as ADRF, Comba, JMA or CommScope.
