Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

The Occupational Health Nurse will support OSHA's National and field offices on a variety of health initiatives, providing expertise in occupational health and nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist OSHA offices with occupational health programs and compliance initiatives.
• Answer public inquiries related to OSHA standards, healthcare concerns, and nursing topics.
• Train OSHA staff, occupational medicine and nursing students, and National Office personnel.
• Review clinical charts, records, and lab reports as directed by OOMN physicians.
• Collaborate with standards and compliance groups to develop new health standards and policies.
• Provide technical assistance to federal, state, and non‑governmental organizations on occupational health matters.

Required profile

• Minimum age 16 and U.S. citizenship.
• Successful completion of required security/investigation clearance.
• Graduate or higher level degree (associate, bachelor's, or diploma) from an accredited nursing program.
• Valid state nursing license (or equivalent for advanced practice positions).
• Relevant nursing experience, especially in occupational health or a specialty area for higher‑grade positions.
