Optometrist - Nyeri

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Optometrist to join our team in Nyeri. The role involves comprehensive eye care, from assessment to post‑operative follow‑up, ensuring high‑quality vision services for our patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Detect, diagnose and manage ocular pathologies such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy.
• Perform vision tests, ocular measurements and analyze results.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses and assist patients with frame selection.
• Provide vision therapy, low‑vision rehabilitation and binocular vision management.
• Fit and manage contact lenses and low‑vision devices.
• Offer pre‑ and post‑operative care for eye surgery patients.
• Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and assist the ophthalmologist in basic procedures.

Required profile

• Mid‑level optometrist with at least 36 months of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to gather medical records, maintain patient information and manage client complaints.

• Vision testing and analysis.
• Ocular anatomical and functional measurements.
• Contact lens fitting and management.
• Low‑vision and binocular vision management.
• Diagnosis of ocular diseases and prescription of corrective lenses.
