Outreach, Advocacy, Liaison and Communications Officer

About the role

The ALIGN project seeks a dynamic Outreach, Advocacy, Liaison and Communications Officer to support the scaling of adolescent health and nutrition innovations across up to 12 African countries. Working under the Project Manager at The Youth Café, you will operate in a hybrid/online mode and travel occasionally to target countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and advocacy strategies that promote project outcomes to national stakeholders, media, and the public.
• Coordinate liaison activities between consortium partners (Action Against Hunger, ENN, The Youth Café), civil society organisations, youth‑led organisations and government entities.
• Produce high‑quality content (briefs, reports, newsletters, social media posts) to showcase innovations and lessons learned.
• Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews and event coverage.
• Support the sub‑grant portfolio by preparing outreach materials and facilitating stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, advocacy or outreach within international development or health‑nutrition contexts.
• Familiarity with adolescent health and nutrition issues and with civil society and youth‑led organisations.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and travel occasionally.
