Corporate Affairs Coordinator & Stakeholder Relations

About the role
The Corporate Affairs Coordinator supports the management of external relationships, stakeholder engagement and the social licence to operate for Bamburi Cement’s Nairobi plant. Acting as the day‑to‑day interface between the business and local stakeholders, the role ensures that community, authority, regulatory and partner interactions are structured, documented and aligned with the Group’s corporate affairs and sustainability strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Support stakeholder mapping, profiling and database maintenance to guide engagement planning.
- Serve as primary liaison with community leaders, local authorities, regulators and partners.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, consultations and outreach activities, preparing agendas, briefings and follow‑up documentation.
- Monitor stakeholder issues, feedback and concerns; escalate insights to the Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Director.
- Track policy and regulatory developments that may affect operations and assist with advocacy activities.
- Prepare briefing notes, research summaries and engagement reports for senior leadership.
- Work closely with the Nairobi Plant Manager to anticipate and manage local stakeholder expectations and risks.
- Support resolution of community concerns and coordinate site visits, inspections and official engagements with Legal, HSE and Operations.
