Packaging Machine Operator Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking a driven Packaging Machine Operator Team Lead to oversee a large group of operators in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality packaging output while meeting production targets and fostering continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate a large team of packaging machine operators.
• Plan manpower and organise shift activities to achieve daily production goals.
• Monitor machine performance, output, downtime and overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, quality standards and health, safety and environment (HSE) requirements.
• Identify, report and help resolve machine faults, defects and production abnormalities.
• Minimise downtime, material waste and operational losses.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and other departments to solve operational issues.
• Train, coach and monitor operators on safe machine operation and quality expectations.
• Maintain accurate production, shift and performance records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and team performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven experience leading or supervising large teams of operators in a production setting.
• Experience with packaging or production machines is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality control and workplace safety.
• Demonstrated ability to manage manpower, shifts, productivity and production targets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
