Patrol Boat Operator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Patrol Boat Operator to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The operator will ensure safe navigation, surveillance, and emergency response for watercraft operating in the designated maritime area.

Key responsibilities

• Operate patrol boats to verify that all craft are operational and accounted for.
• Conduct regular patrols, monitor personnel aboard watercraft, and detect anomalies or unauthorized activity.
• Record verifications, personnel counts, and incidents in accordance with NAVSUPPFACDGINST 3130.3 series.
• Initiate and coordinate rescue operations following Navy protocols.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of boat equipment.
• Adhere to all safety and operational procedures while on duty.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience operating small boats in patrol, security, or rescue roles.
• Physical fitness to manage emergency or rescue operations on water.
• Ability to pass contract medical, swimming, and fitness requirements.

Required skills

• Safe boat handling and navigation techniques.
• Rescue operation procedures.
• Familiarity with Navy maritime standards (NAVSUPPFACDGINST 3130.3 series) or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and boating license/certification.
• Training or certification in watercraft safety and maritime navigation.
